14th St Between 2nd Ave and 3rd Ave

I don't think there's any part of 14th street that surprises anyone anymore. It offers a lot, and can certainly be exciting, but it all becomes a blur. What it comes down to is the nuances of each block. The constantly changing landscape of bars, kitschy stores and late night haunts feed the never-ending flow of hipsters and anyone else with easy access to the 4,5,6,N,Q,R,W or L trains. One could certainly argue that this block between 2nd and 3rd is ground zero for the beginnings of many an evening. As you walk east from the 3rd Ave L stop,  the ironic-ness just drips unapologetically from places like Beauty Bar and the Russian thrift store.  But don't misunderstand me, that's what endears me to this block.  The mixture of wig shops, hot dog chains, spas, psychics and hipster hangouts make for a true "New York Block".

This is one of my fav streets in Manhattan for sure, I've been to that Nathan's my share of times, and had some intensely crazy nights at Beauty Bar.
