Jane St Between Greenwich Ave and West 4th St

An example I often use to explain what I hope to find and share with this site is "a place to find a good burrito"- well, I believe we've finally made it to that milestone. I've been a patron of Benny's Burritos on Jane and Greenwich for a few years now. They never disappoint me with their relatively cheap, overstuffed platters. I can't vouch for their relative quality or authenticity, but they make me happy. A common evening will find me starting at Benny's and eventually working my way down the street to Corner Bistro- the famous village burger joint. No, I'm not going for a second meal (but don't put it past me)- but rather the McSorley's Ale on tap.
The short stretch of Jane between Benny's and the Bistro holds a parking garage and coffee shop as it's only commercial residents. The rest of the block is made up of squat little apartments...some hiding behind narrow alleys and fences. If you look hard, you can find a lot of little goodies that haven't been touched by the Renovation Action Squad in many years (I just invented that squad, but I wouldn't put it past the Bloomberg administration to actually spearhead such a thing).
The miniature square formed by 8th Ave, W4th and Jane seems like it could be used for so much more. Right now planters surround it, preventing traffic from passing....I wish it would be adopted by artists or something.

I love Bennys (and that's saying alot, since I'm not fond of Mexican food). We need to revisit soon!
