69th St Between Columbus Ave and Broadway
Tree-lined and filled with a myriad of architectural styles, this typical Upper West Side Block feels longer than it really is. With a ridiculous amount of shade, much of the street is shrouded in the canopy of trees. While most of the buildings are tightly-packed brownstones, there's an opening on the southern side of the street where a quaint, mission-style-esq church sits amongst the taller buildings.
While the block isn't entirely residential, there isn't much that would draw you away from the main thoroughfares around here. It's quaint enough if you're just looking for a nice street to walk down, though.

Beautiful! This block was one of my favorite routes to and from the park when I lived around there. There were usually a lot of pigeons in front of the church, as I remember.
Those Upper West Side blocks feel so permanent, with their stone facades and (mostly) prospering street trees--it's good to remember they're not necessarily permanent, and to capture what creates that feeling.
Awesome site!
