Beekman St Between Park Row and Gold St

Just before you get to the massive block of J&R stores and right across the street from City Hall Park, there's an unassuming side street heading east – Beekman St. It's a relatively short street which exists only between Park Row and the East River, interrupted for a few blocks by a large housing development.

Currently there's some pretty heavy construction right before William St, which blocks everything but pedestrian traffic. Because of this barricade and the presence of a bar right before it, there tends to be a bit of a bottleneck of people and cars.

The block changes completely after that – whereas the west side of the block has a series of older buildings and alleyways, the east half (After William St) is home to the NY Downtown Hospital, Engine 6 Firehouse and a Subway sandwich shop.
