Chrystie St Between Grand St and Broome St

This street has so much going on, it's almost hard to describe. All at once, home to a subway station and a park; it's also a prime location to pick up fresh fruits and vegetables from the open-air markets. The rush of people here is amazing, especially at the southern-most corner where a subway entrance, a market and a lack of east-bound cross walk all combine to make for one crowded intersection – but it's great!

Walking further north on the west side of the street (the east side, which is really just Eleanor Roosevelt Park, has no pedestrian sidewalk at street level) the traffic dies down quickly as do the store fronts. But even still, this street has some tremendous character.
