Grand St Between Orchard St and Eldridge St

Today's photos were taken by my good friend Shalimar Luis. Please be sure to visit her website, which is full of her amazing artwork ranging from illustrations and painting to typography and graphic design.

To call this stretch Grand St "Just another street on the lower east side" is both unfair to it's unique qualities, and a perfect descriptor both at the same time. Grand is full of unique offerings and shopping - but when you think about, what street south of Houston can't say the same thing?  Very few.  It's perhaps a curse of this area that there more interesting blocks than uninteresting - when everything is unique, nothing is.
