Essex St Between Delancey St and Broome St

Today's photos were taken by my good friend Shalimar Luis. Please be sure to visit her website, which is full of her amazing artwork ranging from illustrations and painting to typography and graphic design.

Going past Delancy gives one the feeling of entering a "world" unto itself.  Sure, there's nothing particularly different in the streets that you come across, but the wideness of the drag coupled with the narrowness of the street create for a sort of cave entrance-like atmosphere.

This being the area that it is, there's a healthy combination of redevelopment and "old stuff".  Depending on who you are (and how much money you have) one will appeal to you more than the other.
