16th St Between 5th Ave and 6th Ave

There's a lot going on here: part residential, part high-scale commercial, part neighborhood shop, part church, part school, this block has what could only be classified as a personality disorder.

Starting on the 5th Avenue side, the block immediately begins with a series of apartments, which by the time you get to 6th avenue, the entire vibe of the neighborhood has changed.  For example, where there was Esprit on 5th is now a diner on 6th.

With a nice mixture of architectural styles and periods represented, the block is quite pleasant in those terms. Though, unless you're going to the school or church, there isn't much to actually do here.
