77th St Between Amsterdam Ave and Columbus Ave

The children rule the roost here. With a school and playground taking up much of the block space here, you'll be hard-pressed to find a more attractive place for Mr.Softee to park on a warm Spring day.

The William J O'Shea Junior High School is surprisingly long, especially for living on such a quiet, typically residential block. It's endless facade stretches from the middle of the block all the way to Columbus avenue, where it's open yard finishes off the street.

Going back to the west side of the street, a sizable playground sits, alongside what appeared to be a small public garden (though my memory could be failing me right now).

If you turn the corner on Columbus, you'll be right next to Shake Shack's new-ish West side digs, which shares much with it's Flatiron cousin.

Overall, a quiet block, which is probably even quieter in the dead of Summer when the school is closed.
