2nd Ave Between 37th St and 39th St

In what can only be described as a grave oversight, today is the first post to cover 2nd Ave. These blocks, just north of the Queens-Midtown Tunnel are quite lively, at least compared to the "midtown-ish" blocks that show up in only a matter of steps from here. The local shops intermingle with the McDonald's and the neighborhood seems to be filled with life.

An older woman was having a tag sale when I came up here which only added to the old neighborhood feel. Of course, though, this being "midtown" (almost), you're not immune from the tall buildings that loom in the surrounding streets. Overshadowing the street below, these massive structures aren't without some beauty...I find them interesting in their own, unique way.
