Maiden Ln Between Broadway and Nassau St

This crooked, little street had more businesses than I'm used to seeing down here in the Financial District. Most of the buildings here are very old and have quite a bit of character. On the eastern corner there's a plaque with a picture that reads "Broadway – Maiden Lane About 1880 – Erected by the Maiden•LaneªHistorical•Society 1928" Directly below it, embedded in the sidewalk is a clock belonging to William Barthman Jewelers (which, from the best I could derive, moved it here from about a block away after they closed their former, smaller location in 2006).

Of course, as I've mentioned many times before, the financial district is a real dead zone every time I visit. Despite the actual commercial locations, this time was no different. It felt completely abandoned. Near the end of the block is an alleyway – Liberty Place – which loosely connects Liberty Street with Maiden Lane.
