6th Ave Between 27th St and 29th St

Amid the crowded, vendor-filled streets here, you can see the encroaching shadows of new construction as it works it's way downtown. Many of the buildings here are low-rise tenements, but being the area that it is, of course there is your occasional high-rise built in the past 10 years or so.

The construction in the area only adds to the crowded nature of 6th avenue as the cranes share space with cars and pedestrians. Every direction offers up a new view of buildings shooting skyward. There are, however some oddities such as the free-standing McDonalds – which, let's be honest, can't last much longer considering how valuable it's real estate must be.

Banks and chains share equal window space with hat stores and florists, lending a great variety to the area.
