25th St Between FDR Dr and 1st Ave

Like it's neighbor covered on Friday, this block is fairly devoid of features. Because of the VA Hospital to the south, there is no 24th Street between 1st and the FDR – so it's just these two streets surrounding the hospital/public pool super blocks.  Asser Levy Place connects to the south, while Hunter College looms to the north.

Of interest to me was the Waterside Plaza development which sits on the other side of the FDR – with four large, brown towers each with some interesting angles. It's always been a bit of a mystery to me, as I only got to see them from afar. From down here, you can see there's a pedestrian access bridge from this block, which allows from quick escape to and from the rest of the city.

Besides that the street is incredibly average, with very little to see.  Move along.

The thing I remember most about the Waterside area is that when it was built, many of us young (then) guys were a bit sad --- it took away away a parking area overlooking the East River where we went with dates :)
