71st St Between 2nd Ave and 1st Ave

A block practically devoid of all character, there are a handful of standout buildings – but really nothing that would be noteworthy on any other street. An anemic number of trees line the way as apartment after out-dated apartment present themselves.

Most of what I came to like here were the strange anachronistic signs and numbers that graced the fronts of these buildings. But built with mostly beige and yellow brick, the block is simply sickly-looking. It's unfortunate since I typical find this to be a charming and comfortable area of town. The surrounding avenues are filled with great neighborhood spots and local hangouts. If you're just passing through, you're better off with any number of streets to the north or south of this one.
