Park Ave Between 62nd St and 64th St

Park Avenue tends to be rather predictable once you're north of Grand Central. The rows of office buildings give way to rows of ultra high-end apartments. Luckily, the weekend I visited also happened to be the final week of New York's Summer Streets, during which they close off most of Park Ave / 4th Ave / Lafayette Street and allow it to be overtaken by pedestrians.

While it's nice to have a large space to roam, it still isn't perfect safe for pedestrians since the bikes can be pretty aggressive and some cross streets still allow cars. I found the more prominent change was the noise – or rather lack thereof. It turned a normally-busy street into a silent oasis with hardly an echo.
